SGS Tool, which produces solid carbide and stainless steel cutting tools for medical, aerospace, and automobile industries, recently expanded their mill facilities in Cuyahoga Falls in response to greater market demands. While producing upwards of 8,000 tools daily, SGS Tool is not the dark manufacturing plant of yesteryear. Our engineers designed mechanical and electrical systems for the industrial spaces, lobby, and offices that reinforced a vision of a modern industrial facility and workplace.
For the manufacturing spaces, air handling systems addressed critical issues, such as distributing substantial heating and cooling loads safely and efficiently. An intricate grid of equipment carefully coordinated water, air, power, and data, which supports the facility to operate 24/7 as needed.
Engineering solutions also mitigated noise pollution to adjacent spaces, promoting productive workspaces. Flooded with natural and LED light, the lobby successfully harmonizes the variety of light sources. Slices of LED light surround the voluminous space, echoing the production process within the facility.
